Hetkel pole mahti infi otsida, sry.
SRV jaoks tegi parandused tema kitarritehnik Rene Martinez, tõsi. Claptoni osa tsiteerin:
"Clapton bought Blackie in 1970. "Right after I'd seen Steve Winwood playing his white Strat," begins Eric, "I was in Nashville and I went into this shop called Sho-Bud where they had stacks of Strats going for virtually nothing because they were so unfashionable and so unwanted. I bought a big pile of them all for a song - they were really cheap, like three or $400 each”.
Clapton, in fact, bought six Strats that day. He gave one to Steve Winwood, one to Pete Townshend and one to George Harrison. The remaining three guitars were dismantled by Clapton and a hybrid was made from all the best bits. This ‘Frankenstein’ guitar was dubbed ‘Blackie’.
Blackie was used on a variety of tours and recordings from 1974-85 and was ‘retired’ in 1987.
"I wore it out too”, says Clapton. “It’s pretty well inaccessible now - there's not much of the neck left. It's worn away on either side and on the back with wear and tear. What makes Blackie unique for me is the fact that I made it! It was one of the last guitars that I actually built myself, really. Therefore it felt like it was invested with some kind of soul, you know.”
He continues, “It's totally playable as it is; there's nothing wrong with it. It's kind of like an old car - there are plenty of new models coming out that have a similar spec, so why buy a new one and keep the old one for Sunday outings or special occasions? That guitar has got years of playing left in it, but not as an every night stand-up-and-give -it-some-wallop guitar."
Clapton now tours and records with six Strats, three of them being Fender Custom-made replicas of Blackie. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the original Blackie is NOT for sale!"
Väike lisandus: see materjal on ca. 10 aasta tagune ning mul tekkis kahtlus, et Blackie läks mingi hetk siiski oksjonile.
In 2004, Blackie was sold for $959,500 at a Christie's auction to support the Crossroads Centre, a drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation centre founded by Clapton. The final bid was cast by the United States nationwide music equipment chain Guitar Center, causing Clapton's guitar to set the record as the world's most expensive guitar. (In 2006, another Stratocaster, signed by a large group of celebrities, including Clapton, was auctioned to benefit the victims of the 2004 Asian Tsunami, selling for $2.6 million, shattering "Blackie"'s record.)
